১. Fill in the blanks with the words from the box:

• I am fond of angling.
  Rule: ‘fond’ শব্দটির পরে সবসময় ‘of’ বসে।
  → আমি মাছ ধরতে ভালবাসি।
• Whenever I get time, I go out angling.
  Rule: ‘go out’ মানে বাইরে যাওয়া – এটি একটি Phrasal Verb।
  → আমি মাছ ধরতে বাইরে যাই।
• I took an angling rod, bait, an umbrella, light refreshment.
  Rule: ‘an’ বসে vowel ধ্বনি থাকলে; ‘refresh’ → ‘refreshment’ noun রূপ।
  → আমি একটি ছিপ, একটি ছাতা, হালকা খাবার নিই।
• I threw the hook into the lake.
  Rule: কিছু ভিতরে ফেলা বোঝাতে ‘into’ ব্যবহৃত হয়।
  → হুকটি লেকের ভিতরে ছুঁড়ে দিই।
• A big fish devoured the bait.
  Rule: নির্দিষ্ট কোনো বস্তু বোঝাতে ‘the’ বসে।
  → বড় মাছ টোপটি গিলে ফেলল।
• I pulled it on.
  Rule: ‘pull on’ মানে টেনে তোলা।
  → আমি এটিকে উপর দিকে টানলাম।
• Other anglers gathered.
  Rule: ‘other’ এর পরে plural noun বসে।
  → অন্য মাছ ধরার লোকেরা জড়ো হলো।
• Fortunately, I caught three more.
  Rule: Sentence adverb বাক্যের শুরুতে বসে এবং ভাগ্য বোঝায়।
  → সৌভাগ্যক্রমে, আমি আরও তিনটি মাছ ধরলাম।

২. Fill in the blanks with suitable words:

  Rule: ‘impact on’ মানে প্রভাব ফেলা।
  → গাছ জলবায়ুর উপর বড় প্রভাব ফেলে।
• If we destroy trees at random, the country will turn into a desert.
  Rule: ‘at random’ মানে এলোমেলোভাবে; ‘turn into’ মানে রূপান্তর।
  → এলোমেলোভাবে গাছ কাটলে দেশ মরুভূমিতে পরিণত হবে।
• It will face green house effect.
  Rule: ‘green house effect’ একটি নির্দিষ্ট পরিবেশগত শব্দ।
  → দেশ গ্রিন হাউস প্রভাবের সম্মুখীন হবে।
• Ours is an agricultural country dependent on agriculture.
  Rule: vowel শব্দের আগে ‘an’; গুরুত্ব বোঝাতে শব্দ পুনরাবৃত্তি।
  → আমাদের একটি কৃষিনির্ভর দেশ।
• Agriculture depends on rain.
  Rule: ‘depend on’ মানে নির্ভরশীল হওয়া।
  → কৃষি বৃষ্টির উপর নির্ভর করে।
• Trees play a vital role.
  Rule: ‘play a role’ একটি Phrase, যা দায়িত্ব বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
  → গাছ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখে।
• Trees save us from natural disasters.
  Rule: ‘save from’ এর পরে plural noun বসে।
  → গাছ আমাদের প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগ থেকে রক্ষা করে।

৩. Make five sentences from the table:

1. The Taj is one of the most beautiful buildings.
   Rule: ‘one of the’ এর পরে plural noun বসে।
   → তাজমহল সবচেয়ে সুন্দর ভবনের একটি।
2. It stands at Agra in India.
   Rule: অবস্থান বোঝাতে ‘stand at/in’ ব্যবহৃত হয়।
   → এটি আগ্রা, ভারতে অবস্থিত।
3. It is built on a strong base.
   Rule: Passive form → is + past participle।
   → এটি একটি শক্ত বেসের উপর নির্মিত।
4. It is made of fine white marbles.
   Rule: বস্তু নির্মাণ বোঝাতে ‘made of’ ব্যবহৃত হয়।
   → এটি সাদা মার্বেল দিয়ে তৈরি।
5. Emperor Shahjahan built it for his wife.
   Rule: Simple past tense ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।
   → শাহজাহান এটি স্ত্রীর জন্য বানিয়েছিলেন।

১১. Punctuation & Capitalization:

Incorrect: what is the time by your watch he said its half past nine i replied i must go to school he said

Corrected: “What is the time by your watch?” he said. “It’s half past nine,” I replied. “I must go to school,” he said.

Rule: Direct speech-এ উদ্ধৃতি চিহ্ন, Capital letter এবং punctuation ব্যবহার বাধ্যতামূলক।

→ সে বলল, “তোমার ঘড়ি অনুযায়ী কত সময় হয়েছে?” আমি বললাম, “সাড়ে নয়টা।” সে বলল, “আমাকে স্কুলে যেতে হবে।”
